RiderSOS privacy notice

RiderSOS helps riders create emergency ID and Bike ID profiles linked to NFC and QR products. This page explains what data RiderSOS uses, why it is used, and the choices available to users.

Who RiderSOS is

RiderSOS is the operator of the RiderSOS website and emergency ID platform.

Business name: TODO add legal business name.
Address: TODO add registered or trading address.
Email: TODO add privacy contact email.

What data RiderSOS collects

Depending on how the platform is used, RiderSOS may collect account details such as name, email address, password hash, emergency contacts, tag activation records, and Bike ID information.

Users may also choose to add medical or emergency data such as allergies, medications, medical conditions, blood type, responder notes, and parent or guardian contact details for junior riders.

Why RiderSOS collects this data

The main purpose is to let a RiderSOS emergency ID or Bike ID product open the correct profile when scanned, and to help users manage those profiles from their account.

RiderSOS also uses account and audit data for security, fraud prevention, customer support, and service administration.

Important visibility warning

Emergency profile data may be shown to anyone who scans or opens the live NFC or QR link attached to a RiderSOS product.

Users should only enter information they are comfortable being visible in an emergency. RiderSOS includes visibility controls, but the user remains responsible for the information they choose to publish.

Legal basis

RiderSOS relies on consent for standard personal data used in the emergency profile flow, and explicit consent for health or medical information.

Marketing emails use separate optional consent and are not required to use the product.

Children and junior riders

Junior rider profiles should be created and managed by a parent or guardian.

Parent or guardian consent is required for under-13 users and for junior rider profiles where appropriate. Public scan pages for junior riders should use the minimum information needed, and should avoid showing a child’s full date of birth where possible.

Retention

RiderSOS keeps account, profile, consent, activation, and security records for as long as the account or linked product remains active, plus any additional period reasonably needed for support, audit, fraud prevention, or legal handling.

TODO: confirm and document the final retention schedule for accounts, scans, consent logs, deletion requests, analytics, and backups.

Editing, exporting, deletion, and withdrawal of consent

Users can edit their emergency profile and export their stored data from the account dashboard.

Users can also deactivate a profile or request full deletion. Withdrawing emergency-profile consent may disable the emergency profile and stop the scan page from showing emergency data.

Cookies, analytics, and tracking

RiderSOS may use essential cookies for sign-in, security, and rate limiting. If analytics or marketing tools are added, the business should review whether a separate cookie notice or consent banner is required.

TODO: list any analytics, advertising, email, payment, hosting, logging, or support processors used in production.
